How do I define time intervals?

You can define time intervals for use in policies. For example, if you want to block users from accessing shopping sites from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, you can create a time interval called Week Days that includes Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To define time intervals:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Go to Administration > Resources > Time Intervals and click Add.

      OR
    • To define a new time interval from a policy rule, click the down arrow beside Always.

In Administration Resources > Time Interval, click Add Time Interval.

  1. Specify the following:
    • Give it a Name.
    • Every Day: To choose all days of the week, enable this option. If you disable this, you can choose which days of the week apply to the time interval.
    • All Day: To choose all day as the time period, enable this option. If you disable this, you can choose the time period that applies to the time interval. Only one time period can be set at a time.
  2. Click Save and activate the change.
