How do I add custom URLs and keywords to a URL category?

To add custom URLs and keywords to a predefined URL category:

  1. Go to Administration > Resources > URL Categories. See screen.
  1. Point to the URL category to which you want to add the URLs and keywords and click the Edit icon.
  2. Complete the following:
    • Custom URLs: Enter the URL(s) you want to add to this custom category and click Add Items. Note, any URLs you enter here do not remain mapped to the parent category (that is, the predefined category to which this URL belonged previously). The URLs are covered by policies that reference this specific custom category, but not by policies that reference the parent category. For example, if you enter www.amazon.com here, this site will no longer be covered by policies that reference its parent URL category ("Online Shopping"). To learn how to find the parent category of a given URL, see How do I look up URLs? Also see URL format guidelines.
    • URLs retaining parent category: Enter the URL(s) you want to add to this custom category but also retain under the original parent category (the predefined category to which this URL belonged previously). Click Add Items after typing in the URL(s). The URLs entered here are covered by policies that reference the original parent category as well as those that reference this custom category. For example, if you enter www.amazon.com here, this site will be covered by policies that reference this custom category as well as by policies that reference its parent URL category ("Online Shopping"). To learn how to find the parent category of a given URL, see How do I look up URLs? Also see URL format guidelines.
    • Custom Keywords: Enter keywords that you want to add to this custom category.
    • Description: (Optional) Enter additional notes or information. The description cannot exceed 256 characters.
  3. Click Save and activate the change.
